(748 posts). . . but I begin to perceive that Trump may, in his own deranged way, be looking to blow up his own campaign in pursuit of an early exit. He's obviously emotionally and/or psychologically unstable, and he's probably begun to lose interest in it all. He can get his ego stroked in other ways. How much of an attention span could that dimwit have to begin with?

(11,862 posts)without any controls in Iraq...but that is the fault of Bush et all that dished cash unregulated into the country...what is truly amazing are all those patriots who did NOT steal cash!

It's kind of a real-life Kelly's Heroes sort of heist . . .

Except eventually, despite years of speculation, the missing $Billions were finally accounted for, having been ultimately spent properly for their intended purposes.

But for "Casino Mussolini," graft and theft and assorted other crimes (committed by anyone other than his inner-circle) is simply grist for the rumor mills, fuel for a misguided political campaign built on accusing others of the very sins he himself is most guilty of committing.

(37,457 posts)Donald Trump rang in the Armys 241st birthday in unusual fashion on Tuesday by calling attention to theft of government funds by American soldiers in Iraq.
Iraq, crooked as hell. How about bringing baskets of money millions and millions of dollars and handing it out?, Trump said at an evening rally. I want to know who were the soldiers that had that job, because I think theyre living very well right now, whoever they may be.
Trump appeared to be referring to the many known instances in which members of the American military members skimmed U.S. government cash intended for reconstruction projects or otherwise engaged in theft or bribery. According to a 2015 report by the Center for Public Integrity, a nonpartisan watchdog group, "at least 115 enlisted personnel and military officers [were] convicted since 2005 of committing theft, bribery, and contract-rigging crimes valued at $52 million during their deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq."
Trump has painted himself as a champion of soldiers and veterans, and it is unusual for American politicians on the campaign trail to call out members of the military, one of the countrys most popular institutions, for their transgressions.

(748 posts). . . during a speech in Keene, New Hampshire back on September 30, 2015. In a story that ran in The Guardian newspaper, dated October 1, 2015, Trump is quoted as follows:
"He," that is, Trump "also suggested that some American soldiers charged with distributing money to fund the Afghan and Iraqi government embezzled it instead. 'I want to know who are the soldiers carrying suitcases with $50m?' asked Trump. 'How stupid are we? I wouldnt be surprised if those soldiers, if the cash didnt get there.'"
Trump is not only a deranged liar, he's a gutless deranged liar as well.
