Question: When they say hackers stole opposition research from the DNC

Does that mean the DNC no longer has it, as in the old sense of "stole" or that the hackers were able to duplicate the information?

If so, can it be that there are no backups?

Or perhaps there are and the DNC is letting Putin (or Trump) think they going to have to start working from zero.

Answers? Observations?

On this I am in the dark.

But if Putin is helping Trump and someone can find a connection . . . Wow.

They're using stole as in "illegally copied". n/t PoliticAverse Jun 2016 #1

But I work in the storage industry so have a bias towards standard business practices. Most enterprise networks will have a backup storage device and backup software that runs on a regular basis. For the DNC to not do this would be appalling. That being said, some hackers will take info silently and creep away, some will leave a mocking greeting card to let you know they were there, some will unleash code to trash your system. I'm guessing they grabbed a copy quickly and ran, but the DNC will have to say for sure.

If Putin is actually collaborating w Trump by stealing oppo research from the DNC, then that makes Watergate look like a misdemeanor.

Putin knows what the DNC has on Trump.

And if it does get to Trump, he can bride and threaten witnesses, etc. Geez.

But in this short time, he will tip his hand, being too ham-fistedly obvious in his actions. Maybe the Putin connection will be suspected and even discovered.
