About the Russian hack of the DNC and the theft of Trump opo research files . . . . .
The best explanation I have heard about the "why" is that Russia wants the Trump info so they learn all there is to know about this guy in the event he wins the presidency. It is just your basic espionage action. And almost certainly not the only such actions to gather Trump info.
When I see conspiracy theories that Putin and Trump are somehow in cahoots and that Putin is helping Trump win the presidency, I find that waaaaaaay too tin foil hatish for my taste. I think that's just woo.
Trump may like to brag about his self proclaimed mutual admiration with Putin. Putin, in the other hand, is far smarter and more cunning. If anything, he probably sees Trump as the chump he is.
