and wanted to stay that way; hated paying taxes. As far as I can tell that's the main motivation; otherwise why would anyone want to support a party and a candidate who were doing their best to restrict your rights and generally hold you in disdain? It makes about as much sense as black people joining the KKK.

Cannot have diversity of opinion. Within the LGBTQ community gay men often have different priorities than lesbians.

Hispanics are the same, experiences of Americans of Cuban background can be very different than Americans of Mexican background.
