Anyone that watches this filibuster and then claims there is no difference between the parties

is a moron.

We have so many great, thoughtful, serious, passionate Democratic legislators. It's the Democrats filibustering (plus King-I-ME), not anyone else.

I am not very hopeful however. After each massacre, we see the same circus and the GOP never yields. They did not after all those poor kids were slaughtered in Newton Connecticut.

Anyone who has lost a family member to gun violence has skin in the game. They're hurt, they're angry, and they feel disrespected.

And the WORST event in American history happened at a club frequented by a segment of our population that has been not just disrespected, but victimized by hate crimes, denied their rights, and who have had to fight like hell to win a measure of equality in this nation--and they aren't done yet. They have a LOT of fight left in them, and they're tough, determined and effective. And smart--let's not forget smart, either. They know how to lobby and bring pressure to bear. They know how to keep an issue front-and-center until they prevail. And they are indefatigable.

I think this tragedy will bring forth leaders to keep pushing this issue--it can't be waved aside and I don't think anyone will be satisfied if that's the tactic the GOP and gun lobby try to take.
