Father gives daughter the confidence to dance in the street

Source: Mashable

There's nothing like a little encouragement from dad to help you overcome your fears.

After a father and daughter stopped to listen to a musician while walking down the street, dad whipped out his camera and began recording.

As his daughter listened to the music, he encouraged her to join in by dancing.

Here are the comments from the YouTube uploader to the father asking permission to post the video:

All I want to know is did the girl get half the musician's tips?

fear to do. Sometimes it turns out badly, but most of the time, the child finds the experience uplifting, educational, and/or confidence building.

I have done the same with my son doing auditions when he was apprehensive. In every case, whether he got the part he wanted or not, he did get very positive comments and gained confidence.

My hat is off to this father. He just gave his daughter belief in herself and the poise to do something greater.

All that matters is that you do your best and that you have FUN playing the game. If you have fun, you win." (My kid played soccer, rather badly, but he always had a blast and was the most positive kid on the team... I have seen parents whose tended to be over the top, but they were the minority, not the majority.)

Encouragement is not the same as bullying.

Who spit in your cheerios today? Put on some uplifting music, sit in a sunny spot and relax. You'll feel better.
