A heads up I will be gone for a while after the 4th of July

I'm having reconstruction surgery on my left hand. It will be in an immobilizing splint for a couple months. After 2 weeks I'll start therapy. And I will be on pain meds for a while, so I won't be driving.

I know I was able to post a little after all three of my shoulder surgeries. So I will just have to see how it goes.

After I'm all better, I will be doing the right hand probably before the first of the year since the deductible is already paid.

Radiation therapy changed my mind.

Sleep is so important for pain management.

So how will you manage the pain?

I have pain issues with my neck too. Inoperable.

When my FTD progresses, I'm not going to go through that. Pain killers and alcohol poisoning are my planned demise. My brain goes to the med center for research.

Flip side is I'm doing better than my original timeline. But most people can see how I have changed over time here.

get well soon!

One takes things like hands for granted until one can't use them for some reason. May your healing go well!

In a similar situation, the only major trouble I had with using a computer afterward was using Cont-Alt-Del. But usually I could get some kind Samaritan (at home my spouse; at work caring colleagues) to help out when it was absolutely necessary to use that function. If you are more dextrous than I, perhaps you can even manage that for yourself.

And I suggest, if you don't have it already, that you get netflix so you can binge watch entire seasons of your favorite shows. There are ways of getting it to show the movies on your tv set.
