That's my latest prediction, based on two factors:
1) Trump is a goddamn disaster, regardless if he actually wins ( ) or not. No Republican with any national ambitions or any sort of potential political future is going to want to attach their names to a racist, sexist, bigoted, ignorant, loudmouthed, egotistical, insane man-child.
2) His running mate would have to be somebody with absolutely no pride left who would actually be willing to play second banana to the biggest douchebag to be nominated by a major political party to the presidency in modern times.
Christie's career is over. His approval ratings in New Jersey are in the toilet. He has nothing left to lose. And he's already demonstrated that he's perfectly willing to let MC Small-Hands make a fool out of him in public.
I think he'll be the one.

In exchange for the publicity (or notoriety) of being on the ticket, Christie will carry Trump's luggage, do his laundry for him and generally act as valet and gofer. "Please, sir, may I have another?" Poor Chris...

(118,622 posts)year in office and wages start to rise huge, the GOP will be lining up impeach him. When he begins to tear up trade agreements he'll have to go it alone and the GOP will impeach him. He hasn't spent his life going on gut instinct to stop once he is elected. They will not be able to control him. They'd rather have a Trump impeached and lose the next presidential election than be stained by him. The GOP after all carefully crafted wages to fall and keep falling by refusing to Keynesian spend during the great recession. Worked until the boomers started to retire and then wages started to rise again. After all the GOP was only in the wilderness for one election cycle after Nixon resigned.
