" LAS VEGAS Donald Trump on Saturday claimed most of the money he's been collecting at his recent fundraisers is going to the Republican Party, but also threatened to cut the GOP off if support from the party wavers.
"Right now I'm raising a lot of money for the Republican Party, and a lot of beneficiaries to that, and I like doing it," Trump said.
"Life is like a two-way street, right?" Trump said. "They have to [help], otherwise I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, I'll just keep funding my own campaign...for me, that's the easy way," he said.

(18,973 posts)Without selling off or borrowing against major assets, Trump doesn't not have the money to self fund. He reportedly could come up with $165 Million at most if he had to.

(19,558 posts)But one Dallas-based Trump fundraiser alerted people on social media that if they were balking at contributing even the minimum amount--$2,700 for adults and $500 for a young professional he would figure out a way to get them into the event without the donation.
People are having a hard time writing checks for this guy, said a major Trump bundler involved in the Dallas reception. If they write a check theyre holding a tissue while they write it.

When Malek was White House personnel chief, President Richard Nixon told him (via chief of staff H.R. Haldeman) to compile a list of all the Jews who worked at the BLS. (Yes, the 37th president of the United States was certifiable. He was alsodespite his strong support for the state of Israelan anti-Semite in an era when anti-Semitism was fast disappearing. For audio evidence, see "Tape snippet: July 3, 1971, on Jews in the Federal Government." Malek obliged; he counted up all the Jews in the BLS and sent Nixon the number. That's the part of the story Malek cops to. Here is how Malek tells it in the Nixon Library's oral history:

(4,734 posts)Since Donald has told everyone he's richer than God, why would people donate to him? And if they donate, why would they stretch their finances for a guy who could truly self-fund his own campaign?
Of course, Donald is lying about how rich he is but his believers will never believe that.

(23,156 posts)his campaign was totally self financed. Of course, it wasn't, but that's what he was saying.

(82,849 posts)Any donations the Trump campaign receives for quite some time will go to pay back Trump's loans to his campaign. I figure come February or March of 2017, Trump will be bragging about all the money he made from his presidential run. Then quietly filing for bankruptcy in June or July when no one's watching.
