(3,557 posts)It is clearly opposed to supporting and starting wars like those our democratic presidential candidate has demonstrated an affinity for over the last two decades.
How can you criticize the wars our great democratic candidate peddles without violating the terms of service update I just had to agree to before I could post this reply? This thread needs to be locked and hidden - however I'm not going to be the one to alert over it.
Amusing example of passive aggression. Bless your heart.

(3,557 posts)It's easy to mock those who are opposed to war when you never have had to face war and its impacts yourself.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that you've never been on a dismounted patrol in Iraq or had to stuff a body bag with the remains of a person who was killed as a result of politicians who were eager to wage war in the middle east. I spent 13 months doing just that from Feb 2004 through March 2005 and I know exactly what the reality of the war on Iraq is. If you'd like, I can share some of the specifics and details.
Our great democratic presidential candidate can spout off about how great the gift of freedom we gave the Iraqis is, but when you see how the awesome generosity we have bestowed on the Iraqis is in reality, you kind of get a different feel for it. However, reality is kind of a downer at times. It forces you accept that some of the things you willingly believe and are told to believe are wrong.
If being antiwar is now on par with being anti-democrat then so be it. I guess that makes me anti-democrat then.

Instead of soap-boxing about foreign wars, how about stopping the wars in our streets and public places.
nationalize the fed
(2,169 posts)There it is! Stop "soap-boxing" about the absurd insane foreign drain on our treasury and what is left of our morality. You don't really care about who got drone bombed last week do you. Or the $200 MILLION DOLLARS that will be spent in the next 24 hours chasing a bunch of bearded rag tag insurgents.
Tusli's enemies don't want to talk about the foreign wars or these things:
Why is that?

...
But the case of Tulsi Gabbard becomes less curious and more expected once you look at her links to a different set of ethnic and religious hardliners: the Hindu nationalist Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Since her election to Congress, Gabbard has tied herself closely to this party, which has a history of condoning hatred and violence against India's Muslim minority. Many of her stateside donors and supporters are also big supporters of this movement, which disdains secularism and promotes religious sectarianism.
...
Why did Gabbard work so hard to shield BJP abuses from congressional review? The answer lies in her base of supporters. The BJP draws on support from the large Indian expatriate community through an organization called the Overseas Friends of BJP. In August of last year, the group convened a large number of Indian American BJP supporters in Atlanta as part of an eight-city tour designed to prepare for Modi's first visit to the United States the following month.

(62,270 posts)Among others. She's more conservative than most Democrats. She literally jumped on the Sanders bandwagon to prove herself more progressive. Which to me is the lowest of the low.

Every so often, Tulsi takes the right tone in her speeches. But more often, she doesn't. All too often, she herself does not practice the liberal attitudes or policies that she says she espouses.
