Did you ever hear the theme song from "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly".

Don't really care about the main player from the movie, but this clip on how the music was made - reinterpreted on the ukelele - is entertaining.

&feature=youtu.be
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a group of all-singing, all-strumming Ukulele players, using instruments bought with loose change, which believes that all genres of music are available for reinterpretation, as long as they are played on the Ukulele.

I'm old enough that I remember when that movies first came out. It was a huge success and now, after many years of being curious about it, know how the music was done!

Thanks!

No excuses...

"Reinhardt is regarded as one of the greatest guitar players of all time; he was the first important European jazz musician who made major contributions to the development of the guitar genre. After his third and fourth fingers were paralyzed when he suffered burns in a fire, Reinhardt used only the index and middle finger of his left hand on his solos. He created an entirely new style of jazz guitar technique (sometimes called 'hot' jazz guitar), which has since become a living musical tradition within French Gypsy culture.

Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli formed the Quintette du Hot Club de France which really launched the gypsy jazz sound we know today. Many groups try to recreate their sound, some actually get close:

(note the two Selmers doing "la pompe" - Who needs drums when you have rhythm guitars?)
