Clinton: "Trump has written a lot of books about business. They all seem to end at chapter 11"

• Mrs. Clinton described the process of constructing her speech: “I had my researchers and my speech writers send me information” on Mr. Trump “and then I’d say, ‘Really? He really said that?’ And they’d send me all the background and the video clip.”

• Observing that Mr. Trump had not released his tax returns, Mrs. Clinton speculated that he might be “afraid” of voters seeing what they would reveal. “Maybe he isn’t as rich as he claims,” she said.

• As Mr. Trump posted on Twitter to counter Mrs. Clinton’s remarks, she ticked off a list of foreign countries where Trump-branded products had been made.

• The crowd laughed when Mrs. Clinton discussed Mr. Trump’s record with casinos in Atlantic City and the bankruptcies of his companies. She said Mr. Trump had “written a lot of books about business” and added, “They all seem to end at Chapter 11.”

Let's focus on the issues. While we may think it's funny to throw insults it doesn't really move us forward. Down ticket Dems will also benefit from this.

She is actually campaigning on issues. See for example, her website, the Democratic party platform website and others. Last week, she spoke of issues ranging from campus sexual assaults to disability rights to labor and worker's rights. Her focus on the issues is neither denied nor even minimized by a well-placed bazinga.

In every speech she gives, she talks about her proposed policies and issues that she feels is important for America. But she also needs to remind voters what Trump stands for too. The contrast is stark and obvious and doing so with levity keeps people in engaged. Not everyone out there is a DU policy wonk.

There is plenty of time in this campaign and you don't want to peak too early. Nor do we want to force Donald out too early. So slow and easy at first, issues can come out later.

the best thing one can do to an egotistical, undisciplined bully, like trump, is you taunt him and belittle him and let him do something stupid(er) ... possibly, something sooo stupid that, even the most pro-trump/anti-HRC person out there would find disqualifying.

But we should expect more from people asking to run our country.
A far to significant portion of press time lately has been allocated to Twitter wars and verbal jabs in the press. This is ridiculous.
We have serious issues and I don't think it is to much to ask that the person I vote to run the most powerful nation on Earth not get in Twitter or newswire name-calling fights like a bunch of pre-teen adolescents.

We continually fail at learning the lesson that we don't get the government we want, we get the government we deserve.
Until we learn that lesson, this is the government we will get.

(Government, not specific president or specific member of Congress or candidate but government)

However, elections have been known to turn on single, memorable lines- i.e. "please proceed", etc.

And we are in an election phase, now.

Ive certainly been critical of the lack of attn to concrete issues, myself, this cycle- but that is a separate discussion imho.

There is no reason candidates can't send snappy comebacks on twitter AND engage in wonkish policy proposal discussions as well.

I have heard things , largely from Trump, but the others as well, that demean the office of POTUS. This of course is just my opinion. We may have trouble ever garnering respect from the world after this. It's a shame. We will pay the price.
