Voting for the Collins compromise bill if they really want something done?

1. I believe that even the WH

said they are holding judgement until they can read the entire thing.

If the bill won't do anything (no idea, haven't read it myself) then the last thing you want is pass something under the illusion of change.

2. Collins bill is very narrowly written, but who knows what amendments and tinkering will bring.

Republicans are famous for putting poison pills in otherwise great bills just to kill them.

And then there is the House of Representatives. I doubt they would pass the bill, but I would like to know if anyone has heard different.

4. My worry is a bill that locks in new "freedoms"

under the guise of "control".

3. I hope the bill(s) and amendments fail.

I would rather see work done to repeal many of our frivolous gun laws. Susan Collins has a history of voting for gun control laws. She is no defender of the Second. Like most Repubs, she can't be trusted on civil rights matters.
