Trio of 'vigilantes' arrested outside Holland Tunnel with loaded guns, and 2,000 rounds of ammo

If you're going to be bringing guns illegally into NJ or NY, you may want to drive something a little less conspicuous.

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/cops-arrest-3-people-loaded-handguns-holland-tunnel-article-1.2682095

I'm sure he just forgot the loaded: 5 handguns, shotgun and AR he had accidentally left in the truck... One of which he was sitting on. Oops. Happens to me all the time... I just stood up and a Desert Eagle just fell of my chair. I forgot it was there, been looking for it for a couple of weeks now.

Let's not be too hard on him. He's a good law abiding citizen and all. Don't take it out on the guns.

Had to wonder if they are all on heroin - apparently they were heading for the heroin dealers who got to the driver's daughter.

A bunch of middle aged guys were in contact with some teenage girl on the internet?

She was later located and found not to be in any sort of hostage situation.

This thing sounds really weird.

He is a gun nut who owns a gun store and has a gun range he opened in 2014---

He has sayings like "kill heroin dealers" on the side of the truck, he speaks at conferences, and is a "vigilante" saving young people who are strung out...

He probably needs to see a shrink before he fucks up and kills the wrong "dealer"....

A lot smarter than this guy too.

I ended our relationship by jumping out of her moving car. Decades later certain unremarkable things still ignite the PTSD in me.

Guns and violence make bad situations worse. Everything is FUBAR when the guns come out. Solving problems peacefully, without guns, is the wise way.

Good people know this innately, civilized people learn this as children, too many of us by sordid experience as teens and young adults.

I've been in rough situations, sometimes of my own making, some involving guns, but not once would outcomes have been improved had I been holding a gun. I don't even trust cops with guns. It's not hyperbole when I say that every gun lover is a potential terrorist, enabler of tragic accidents, or suicide.

This guy sounds like a danger to himself and others; a ticking time bomb. It's a good thing he was caught. Maybe he will learn something.

All the "War on Drugs" is a rotten thing, addiction is best dealt with as a public health problem. If addicts could easily obtain free counseling and even the drugs they are addicted to in a safe supportive non-judgmental environment, then the armed drug warriors and gangsters and vigilantes would have no business.

In the War on Fat and cardiovascular disease, we'll fight food addiction on the street level and outfit cities with armored tanks and assault teams to raid homes for trans fats and refined sugars. Newspaper photo spreads and internet sites will be flush with evidence shots showing giant food hauls, someone's bedspread loaded with Coke, cheeseburgers and Little Debbies.

People facing jail for probation violation may kill for caramels, and the cops may have to strangle a food addict or two for their own good, but the world will be better and safer for everyone.

Or maybe we can conduct SWAT raids to flash grenade the closets of shopaholics. The newspapers can print their mug shot next to their credit card statements. We'll allow the Shopping Enforcement Agency to just confiscate all credit limits for the good of the children.

Too many material things corrupt working people and poor people. The SEA says "Just say no to money and things. All your debit card are belong to us."

No, we treat drug addiction like aliens landed and gave the malady to us. Not human or human nature at all.

But oh-so-goddamned monetized!

Ching. Fucking. Ching.

Hopefully their lawyers will get everything straightened out.

This is one of the reasons I try and avoid NY,NJ,CT areas as much as possible, they like making criminals out of citizens. Bad news is I'm lined up for 4 classes in areas of this nature in the next 18 months.

As a "responsible" gun owner he should know better. As an FFL, he has zero excuse.

Making a criminal out of someone who is legally passing through the state(s), with their unloaded and secured firearms in their trunk, is not the same as having 7 loaded weapons in a vehicle, one of which an occupant was sitting on.

I live in PA, I abide by PA's laws. When I travel to NJ, or NY I abide by their laws. It's pretty simple.

That's also what you get for being a grade A hypocrite, a so-called anti-drug vigilante caught with pills and some pot.
