San Diego high school cheerleader charged in fatal beating of homeless man

A high school cheerleader has been charged in connection with the beating death of a homeless man in San Diego County, officials said.

Hailey Suder, 18, pleaded not guilty Monday to two felony counts of being an accessory after the fact, according to Tanya Sierra, spokeswoman for the San Diego County district attorney’s office.

Suder was dating one of two brothers charged with killing 50 year-old George Lowery, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Sheriff’s homicide investigators did not say what role she played in Lowery’s death, and which brother she was dating.

Suder was a senior at Santana High School, but did not graduate with her class this month, said Catherine Martin, spokeswoman for the Grossmont Union High School District.

Lock her and her boyfriend up for a good long time.

Rather than feeling any empathy for a homeless person, they got a thrill out of beating him to death. One of the hottest places in hell should be reserved for all 3 of them!

It figures.

Hailey is no doubt on a list somewhere of approved cheeleader names. Right up there with Tiffany, Brittany, Jennifer, Madison, Cameron, Taylor, Brianna, Kianna, Hannah, etc.

Charged with "two felony counts of being an accessory after the fact"
"Sheriff’s homicide investigators did not say what role she played in Lowery’s death".

Shouldn't we know what role she played before deciding she should be locked up for a good long time?

Although Due Process has been under attack in the Senate this week, we still don't imprison people innocent until proven guilty.

His life, his kindness, his strength to stand up for another human being than these losers.

She could have been handed a paper bag containing the boots the thug boyfriend was wearing and told to keep it in the garage or garden shed. They could just be trying to squeeze her for any information she has that they think she's withholding.

Or there might have been her footprints on the poor man who was killed.

We just don't know at this point.

Which means at a minimum that she was aware of what had happened because she was either present when the two "boys" (19 and 22) left the scene of the crime or was part of the the cover-up after the fact (as in cleaning or hiding evidence, or not reporting her knowledge of the crime).

And since the LA times article indicates she made a not guilty plea, there's probably no reason to assume she was an active participant in either the torture (they bound their victim before they beat him such that he died) or murder.

On edit -
Accessory after the fact for a 1st degree murder still typically results in jail time of at least two - five years, unless there is also strong evidence that she had no reasonable choice other than to help the murderers - as in, she feared for her life or something like that.
