of that bill. And (drum roll please) it failed because it didn't reach a 2/3 majority necessary to override a presidential veto. Is there a smilie for thumbing one's nose? This is why we absolutely must increase our votes in both the house and senate.

(The bill basically said that financial advisers didn't have to act or advise in the best interest of their customers.)

The following is from 2013, and I don't entirely understand it, but it rings the warning bell of an approaching dark storm for the Working/Middle Class.

New Rule (Passed by Congress and signed by President Obama) signals Kiss of Death for Pensions
"This proves that pensions are pretty much dead," said Greg McBride, chief economist at Bankrate.com. "The change is just another charade to mask the underfunding of pensions and increases the odds of having less money for retirement."

<snip>

People getting pension checks this week or next month won't be affected," McBride said. "It's the young person of today that has to worry about getting full pension benefits when they retire."
