(Guess the Democrats don't despise him as some here have suggested)
A few other Senators stopped by to show support as well, including Warren.
Very proud of the Dems today!!

(90,335 posts)... speak up and stand up against the workplace bully before (I'm 6'5 250... it wasn't that hard) and then people will get behind you... then you can step out of the way.
Sanders setting the standard of what we as democrats should accept could be the immediate affect of his campaign

(20,998 posts)And you can say it... it takes nothing away from Secretary Clinton. And it takes nothing away from John Lewis-- bless his heart, for standing up today and saying enough is enough and inspiring his colleagues in the House to also stand up.
All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. It would appear good people have again found their voices, found their soul.

(18,402 posts)I don't want to spoil the party, but a hell of a lot of Senators came to the House floor before Sanders put in an appearance this afternoon, and long before Elizabeth Warren showed up for a prime-time donut slot.
Many were there at the beginning, whether it was prime-time news or not, to light the fire of this action, including my senator, Dick Durbin, who was there early. Senators who have been long-time advocates for gun-control measures:
Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy, who led a filibuster in the Senate last week leading to the votes on gun measures, also walked in to the House chamber to show his support. His fellow Connecticut senator, Richard Blumenthal, also joined the sit-in, along with Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin, Minnesota Sens. Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar, Washington Sen. Patty Murray, Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson, Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono, Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin, Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, and New York Sen. Chuck Schumer. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, also stepped onto the House floor Wednesday afternoon.

Give credit where credit is due. This is not a fan club, it's a critical issue for our nation and the thousands of people who have lost loved ones to gun violence. We have a tremendous party full of dedicated Democratic men and women legislators who have worked for years on this issue, not just two people among the many.

(39,451 posts)You're right - but the others haven't been attacked by Hillary supporters as being so disliked by the other Democrats, and so rebutting that falsehood deserves special mention.

(335 posts)Hillary couldn't - she's not in the Senate.
My issue isn't with Hillary on this, it's with the unreasonable attacks on Bernie.
