General Discussion

I have no idea why, considering that the last 5 days of using DISQUS to "discuss" anything was video cards in various video card forums (waiting to see how the RX480 does in benchmarks!).
I have no idea what is going on there. Maybe I said something overly optimistic about a video card somewhere and that's why I got blocked for talking about something on a political post? I don't use foul language and stick to topic.
I'm rather stunned I got blocked for any of that. I sent a post to ask. That was just ... odd.

(39,961 posts)I was talking about yield on GP104 dies and parts, value/performance provided AMD delivers the goods and it isn't a paper launch (feel free to argue that the 1080/1070 weren't paper launches).
Apparently discussing things on tech forums have locked me out of discussing things on political forums.
That's rather ... odd.
How a discussion on the tech forum really even gets you banned.
By reading your post it seems rational, did you insult anybody?
Personally I don't mind paper launches because they are true statements and show the future.

(39,961 posts)I don't recall that I insulted anyone. I was just speculating on performance.
I wasn't banned on the two I frequent the most. Maybe I wandered into one (some are linked so far back it's difficult to know where you came from) on a speculation site that got somebody shut down for NDA problems.

(39,961 posts)It was probably a site that was whacked for NDA violation before the 6/29 embargo ends. I just read the information, though, I wasn't the person that posted it.
Still, that shouldn't keep people from discussing things on a political or news site?

(39,961 posts)on a multitude of sites. I hope I don't get perma-banned. All I did was comment on information that someone else posted. Even if they did violate the NDA, they posted it, all I did was comment on it.
It was a speculation site, but damn, there are a thousand of those and if myself and 20 other people added to the discussion of the information that we did not post, only evaluated and discussed amongst ourselves, we weren't wrong doing. It isn't like we were discussing whether Kim Kardashian had butt plastic surgery.
Discussing tech specs on potential PCB modifications and VRM cooling shouldn't scare the hell out of anybody.
It certainly shouldn't bar me from political/news discussions.

(39,961 posts)They didn't want a flood of them (because, believe me, their reporting was spiteful - I attempted to comment, but I was not using vulgar language or being derogatory).
Don't know. I'm waiting for DISQUS to respond. Honestly, I haven't tried other haunts other than the video card ones yet. I'll see if it's just "We're ABC and terrified of your opinion".

I wonder what on earth I might have potentially said that made ABC so scared to death that I might comment on an article?
