both parties in UK opposed Brexit. Both parties in U.S. oppose Trump. The problem for Trump is that Democratic voters are nowhere near as disaffected as GOP voters.

The more scary the world gets, the more people will look for a serious candidate. Clinton is a serious candidate. Trump is not.

I think it shows things are not as politically stable as they appear to be.

There is a growing percentage of people throughout the western world who are very angry at the established order. And they are angry for a variety of different reasons. But you cannot continue to ignore them or you will have more votes like this in many other countries. Political stability may even be affected here.
