Is War Inevitable?

U.S., Israel Discuss Triggers for Bombing Iran’s Nuclear Infrastructure

"The Obama administration is trying to assure Israel privately that it would strike Iran militarily if Tehran’s nuclear program crosses certain “red lines”—while attempting to dissuade the Israelis from acting unilaterally."

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/12/28/u-s-israel-discuss-triggers-for-bombing-iran-s-nuclear-infrastructure.html

There seems to be a certain and steady drumbeat for war with Iran. As bad as the 'Great Recession' has been, military strikes on Iran would probably plunge the economy of the entire world into the abyss. Not to mention, of course, the potential for a violent and exceedingly destructive war waged throughout the Middle East and Iranian counterstrikes even here in the U.S.

certainly be a growing source of tension in 2012. It's going to take careful hands on all sides to prevent an active conflict.

"In an interview with Amy Goodman on March 2, 2007, U.S. General Wesley Clark (Ret.), explains that the Bush Administration planned to take out 7 countries in 5 years: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Lybia, Somalia, Sudan, Iran"

Obama is not Bush. This Admin. won't actually declare war on Iran.

This is why Obama is so much better than Bush: Obama's words are so nice. His speeches are so wonderful. No worries, he's got it covered.

Clark here is talking almost five years ago about what he believes an administration that has now been out of office for three years was planning to do. And not a single one of those plans came to fruition, save Iraq, which had been 'taken out' four years before he gave this interview.

7. The Neocon project *requires* continual war, yes. They prefer pushovers like Syria, however.

Iran is too tough to take on, directly. Perhaps some lovely "freedom fighters" can be found or bought?

Sooner or later the Middle East will erupt into full-scale war between the Shia and Sunni nations. This is a conflict that is a over a thousand years old and something that we cannot stop. All we can do is step aside.

War between the U.S. and Iran? Dunno. Not American. Will your country follow Roger Daltrey's advice or not?

Just saw this California Democrat warmongering against Iran on MSNBC.

Not reassuring that a U.S. war with Iran will be averted.
