What's with all this 'Republican candidate but didn't mention him by name' stuff?

Hear it everywhere. Why won't they say 'Trump'? Is it fear that it is just more free advertising for him? Is this a thing now? He that shall not be named? And is this a good thing?

thing is, he's a tricky little bugger. I don't have the imaginative energy to put into this, but could he, that shall not be named, turn it to his advantage?

"My opponent..." In the world of sound bites, mentioning the opponent's name can be torqued the wrong way. Silly, isn't it?
