(101,265 posts)The German talk of an "associated partner country" could be a deal like Norway and Switzerland get; which is access to the EU single market in return for free movement of labour. The latter is what the Brexit is about preventing. So there's no idea if that would be what Brexiteers want anyway.

I see the UK becoming like Switzerland.
Germany is going want the UK inside the tent pissing out, rather than outside the tent pissing in.
