It's all the same: I don't have cause of the mean black president. I don't have cause of the evil EU. I don't have cause of the big bad banks.

It's all someone blaming anyone but themselves for what they have or don't have.

This is why there are very few political "experts" that I actually listen to. Most have an extremely 2 dimensional, overly simplistic view of the world. They take 2 disparate events and try to link them. What are the two big news stories in front of them right now: British voters narrowly recommend that the UK leave the EU and Donald Trump. They must be connected! Of course we hear the Trump is just like Boris Johnson. Johnson was one of the leaders of the Brexit movement and like Trump, he has crazy hair! They are linked! Of course, Johnson is regarded as a fairly intelligent, all be it eccentric, man with little evidence that he is a bigot. Of course Trump is....Trump.

We hear these massive leaps in logic all the time from the media. Just this year, the democratic convention in Philly is going to be 1968 all over again because Sanders hasn't endorsed yet! Or the republican opposition to Trump is just like the death of the Whig Party! Or Trump will win in a landslide like Reagan in 1980 because people call him a clown and some people may have said the same about Reagan, at one point.

Really, most of these "experts" are just good looking people that aren't afraid of public speaking and know how to read superficial poll numbers. There is a reason why studies have found that the predictions political pundits make are wrong more often than what you would get if you just flipped a coin. Its not about being right or providing useful information. Its all about clickbait articles and ad money.
