Hallelujah! Dr. James Dobson says Donald Trump has accepted Christ, is a "baby Christian"

Donald Trump, according to a new report, has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

No, you didn't accidentally click on The Onion. That's a factual statement, according to a well-respected evangelical faith leader.

Dr. James Dobson, who was among the more than 900 evangelical faith leaders who met with the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting in New York City, says it happened fairly recently. He also said he knew who led the businessman to Christ.

"I don't know when it was, but it has not been long," Dobson told Godfactor's Michael Anthony in an exclusive interview. "I believe he really made a commitment, but he's a baby Christian. We all need to be praying for him, especially if there's a possibility of him being our next chief executive officer."

Dobson's not a spare the rod type of guy; it's one of the things that motivates his "ministry" -- corporal punishment to maintain discipline. He's built his empire around it.

He focused on this Old Testament method while on the staff at USC (he's a psychology PhD) and witnessed campus protests against the Viet Nam War. All those young'uns weren't spanked when growing up, and that's what led to their disrespect for authority.

We're on the same side here as I was riffing on your "Baby Christian" comment. I think we can agree that Donald Trump has conveniently found religion at an opportune time. It's interesting to me that Mr. Trump has attended church for decades but is only now finding Jesus. And he's claimed that the Bible is the only book ever written that is greater than his own book, "The Art of the Deal."

I'm always struck by how many "Christians" really don't know anything about the Bible but they'll swear that it's the inerrant word of god. The point of my response to your post was that most Evangelical Christians today have such a skewed understanding of the Bible, especially the New Testament, that it's contemporary interpretation would be incomprehensible to the original authors. At the end of Jesus' life, there were no "Christians" per se and it would be centuries before the church would begin to organize. It would be later still that the writings that became the Bible would be edited and organized.

I've heard various leaders and politicians quote the Bible out of context which often changes the meaning of the passage, often reversing the point being made. That technique will work well for Donald Trump. (sarcasm)

If, as Trump has long stated, he truly is a Presbyterian, then this is a total lie.Speaking as a lifelong Presbyterian, it is impossible to be a member of the church without a public profession of faith and belief in Christ as the Son of God. Having said that, I can't imagine why he hasn't been excommunicated, but that's another story.

of an intellectual or analytical mindset, bless their little hearts.

Cretins like Dobson feed off of the dear Christian's ignorance and the Christian's abject terror over criticizing anyone who mutters the word "Jesus."

Our Christian governor, for example, is worth 3 billion dollars. yet nary a Christian in this state asks themselves why Bill Haslam doesn't want poor people to earn a living wage, have access to health care or have any teeth left in their faces.

But he's a GOOD CHRISSCHUNN!

I feel sorry for Christians until I remember that they vote to let us all get fucked in the ass over and over and over (as much as they claim to hate sodomy) because they will elect the most corrupt, greedy, evil fuckers in the states as long as those evil fuckers say the magic word:

JESUS.

You don't really have to believe in the guy, live the way the bible advises or even be a decent person in any way, as long as you say Jesus the allotted number of times in your campaign ad.

Yeah, so Dobson's the clever one because he fucking knows how gullible and naive the Christian truly is. It's sad, but also infuriating.
