Senior Merkel ally says London should be allowed Brexit rethink

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's chief of staff has said politicians in London should be able to have the chance to think again about the consequences of leaving the European Union.

"Politicians in London should have the possibility to reconsider the consequences of an exit," the RND newspaper network on Sunday quoted Merkel's chief of staff, Peter Altmaier, as saying.

The UK will be able to sell its goods and products to other countries still in the EU, because the UK currency will make their products more affordable. But when residents of the UK buy something from a country still in the EU, they will pay more. Inflation will be rampant.

David Cameron has not left this decision up to politicians in London.

He was extremely arrogant and now his country is paying the price.

And this is only the start of their problems. Next up, Boris Johnson as party leader.

The EU should back off and shut up until a formal invocation of Article 50.
