(23,340 posts)Did I mention that the hair is EXPENSIVE? You'd be AMAZED at how expensive it is. But that's ok. You'd be AMAZED at how rich he is.
What did the bible say about this ... it's better to poke a needle in your eye, than to let a camel lick your head and mess up your hair. Something like that.

(2,434 posts)I'm a Presbyterian. Donald says he's a Presbyterian. We are not "born again" Christians. Not sure if he understands either one. Strike that. He doesn't understand either one.

(8,380 posts)I really dislike anything and everything to do with James Dobson. I also work near Liberty University, and seeing the Falwells and followers contorting themselves to somehow making Trump palatable to their minions makes me dislike them more.

(22,035 posts)In the 1980's, I would occasionally see Mr. Trump with his then-girl friend, Marla Maples, attending this church on Fifth Avenue in NYC. I always thought that was odd since he was famously married to his first wife, Ivanna. Dr. Norman Vincent Peale was still preaching on occasion and it amused me to ponder what he thought of Mr. Trump bringing a date to church services.
Incidentally, Marble Collegiate is Dutch Reformed Church in America and is one of the oldest continuing congregations in the States.

(22,035 posts)I've lived in NYC for four decades and have had to witness Donald Trump's tabloid life for most of that time. As a former Presbyterian Clerk of Session, Sunday School teacher, Elder and Deacon, I can say that Donald Trump doesn't understand a thing about Christianity, the Bible or the teachings of Jesus. There has been nothing in his life that has indicated that he's absorbed anything about the faith and philosophy of this religion.
And, in his specific case, the "born again" thing is just dumb. Presbyterians may come in a broad spectrum of perspectives but they are not Evangelicals.
Donald Trump is an idiot. It's not my place- nor anyone else's- to judge what's in a person's heart. But by his actions and words, I can see that Mr. Trump has found religion for the worst of reasons.

(2,434 posts)I just finished a 7-year stint as Clerk. Have been an Elder and teacher as well. Deacons - not my thing. And no, The frozen chosen just don't do proselytizing well.
It bothers me that he is giving Presbyterians a bad name. We serve the poor and the homeless and many undocumented persons come to our food pantry. At first they were scared. We told them we were a church, not the gov't. We now serve over 500 families a month on donations and as a part of Community Food Share. Don't think he has a clue about any of that.
