Trump supporters more likely to view blacks negatively

NEW YORK | BY EMILY FLITTER AND CHRIS KAHN
Tue Jun 28, 2016 8:41pm EDT

Supporters of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump are more likely to describe African Americans as "criminal," "unintelligent," "lazy" and "violent" than voters who backed some Republican rivals in the primaries or who support Democratic contender Hillary Clinton, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll ...

The poll, conducted between March and June, interviewed 16,000 Americans and included 21 questions on attitudes about race. It sought responses from voters who support Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, and her rival U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. It also surveyed supporters of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich, the last two Republican candidates to drop out of the race ...

Nearly half of Trump's supporters described African Americans as more "violent" than whites. The same proportion described African Americans as more "criminal" than whites, while 40 percent described them as more "lazy" than whites.

In smaller, but still significant, numbers, Clinton backers also viewed blacks more critically than whites with regard to certain personality traits. Nearly one-third of Clinton supporters described blacks as more "violent" and "criminal" than whites, and one-quarter described them as more "lazy" than whites ...

These people think the expansion of Medicare is a good idea, but 'Obamacare' is the the Communist Devil.
I didn't need a research survey to tell me it isn't the -care' part that they have a problem with.

Worthless racist hateful fuckheads. As far as Clinton, I would bet good money that those numbers are tied directly to her previous statements regarding the 'superpredators'. Unless she ends up indicted I'll vote for her, but we're most assuredly BACK to the Lesser of 2 evils argument (again).

A Trump Administration would hurt like hell no doubt (it's why I'll vote for Hillary). But if that's the outcome, I hope it HURTS ENOUGH that even the idiots who would vote for him learn to never do it again. This Nation needs very much a return to 1930-levels of popular and electoral outrage. I don't want there to be breadlines before it happens, but if that's the level of Pain that it's going to take then I think we need to be ready for that contingency.
The velvet wrapper just costs more money...let's let America see Global Capitalism for the real Iron Fist that it is. We're the center of Empire, and so it will take longer , but it WILL get to us eventually. My fear is that by that time there will be so many idiots that the nation just accepts the usurpation of out Government and our Rights by multinationals as Holy Gospel, and welcome those chains.

you do not repeat the mistake of the German Communist Party which, in 1932, welcomed the ascent of Hitler as the "ice-breaker" that would herald the start of the proletarian revolution. Within 6 months of Hitler's seizure of power, most of those Communists were either interned, dead, or in exile.

Generally speaking, the cause of workers is seldom advanced by taking steps bacward. In the case of the Trumpenfuhrer, make that a giant leap backward.

I think it would depend on the type of rank oppression the corporate state would attempt to impose...The banning of all unions would hardly be noticed at this point, (SADLY) but if Trump were to say, shut down the Open Internet or stop soc sec payments, in 35 days every County Courthouse in America would be on fire..

None of that makes your point less valid. This is a scary time for We The People, because not enough of us know that we're NOT immune to fascist impulses.

Fuck Trump, regardless.

during the darkest days of W. Although I am heartened by recent polls that show his support plummeting, I think all leftists need to hope for the best and plan for the worst. I know I am.
