The US Government: Simplified

I think describing the National Debt as a Credit Card debt is, perhaps, a little TOO oversimplified.

And I'd say those freeloading uncles who sit around drinking martini's, eating our food and complaining with each other at the club (which we pay the dues for) about how we have no work ethic need to start paying at least some of the rent, thereby increasing family "income".

It's more like "Don't make us pay for it! It's YOUR responsibility now, but you can't have any income."

And rich Uncle Moneybags, who spends most of your money & takes up most of your house, doesn't contribute to the family income.

The US doesn't have a spending problem, we have a taxation problem. Make Uncle Moneybags pay his fair share.

Households can't. And balancing the budget right now would likely send the nation into a downward spiral resulting in an even greater concentration of wealth at the top.

Not that I'm happy with the composition of the budget or the nature of Federal policy.

Those pushing for a balanced budged ammendment would severly limit our ability to pull through major crises.
Economic downturns, natural disasters and national defense are a few that come to mind.
