The grimace is an ape facial expression that usually is part of a display response, and often associated with fear or insecurity. I think Trump is always on the edge of fear because he is really insecure. He always feels as though he is a millimeter away from being exposed to ridicule and humiliation. Of course, his aggression also has a significant fear component to it.

Edwards was able learn to stop doing something that made him look bad. I don't think Trump can learn to do or stop doing anything.
