The only thing that would have improved that video would have been for him to disappear for a second with the old Star Trek transporter sound and visual effect. But maybe he had decided to not give the GOP any ideas...

maybe if we make gay people invisible that will fix the economy...I am seriously thinking that we do spend too much on taxes if this is the kind of tom foolery that Republicans engage in!!!

George is becoming a force on the internet with enough FaceBook friends to actually start effecting things. He's a wise, talented, silly and very funny guy. I think he's just coming into his own, to be honest. He's one to watch.

In the scene where Kirk is charged with cheating on the Kobayashi Maru test, Takei is one of the Star Fleet officers on the dais, just to the left?

It looks like him. Just wondering.

Yes, I am a Trek geek.

Unfortunately, the people who most need to see this video would need to develop a sense of humor. The sort of person who would support a "Don't Say Gay" bill are almost guaranteed not to have one.

Some years ago, George Takei was on the NPR show "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me." The transcript is almost as much fun as the original radio show.

Too bad he didn't put Trump in his place on the Birther issue, though it may be that it was filmed before Trump challenged the authenticity of President Obama's birth certificate.

He has served as Convention Delegate, he ran for LA City Council and was later appointed by Mayor Bradley to serve on the board of the Rapid Transit District where he was part of the push to get the subway which Los Angeles now enjoys. Apparently George was the tie breaking vote in favor of building the system. About 400,000 people a day ride the Meto Rail system in LA.
An all around wonderful guy.
