Insufferable Food Babe Blogger Becomes Even More Insufferable (She's Pregnant)...

http://foodbabe.com/2016/07/18/secret/

"...

When I looked at my husband and said I was ready, things happened quick. BOOM. I was pregnant. I honestly couldn’t believe it – I thought it would take a long time considering all the pregnancy stories and experiences I have heard about with loved ones and close friends, but I am incredibly grateful that it happened so easily for us. We are truly blessed – I can’t help but think the years of getting my health to its optimal state had to help – practicing my healthy habits, regular acupuncture and staying away from processed food!

(That's right, an anecdote proves that her health being in an "optimal state" is why she got pregnant quickly. Not only that, but acupuncture must have a had something to do with it, plausibility be damned.)

...

Now that I am pregnant – wow – have my eating habits changed. First of all, not in a million years did I think I would ever crave Taco Bell again. But it happened. I was walking by one on the way to another restaurant and I could literally taste a chicken soft taco and bean burrito in my mouth. Of course I didn’t get any – But man! It was the weirdest sensation I have ever experienced, especially considering I haven’t eaten at Taco Bell since it was like 2am in the morning and I was in college.

And then Burger King happened. Yes. That nasty excuse for food. I was in Spain (of all places!) promoting the Spanish version of The Food Babe Way and was stuck in an airport terminal with the smell of charbroiled hamburgers radiating the whole waiting area. I thought I was going to DIE if I didn’t have one. But thankfully my years of personal investigation and study of food toxins and industrial factory farming kept me FAR FAR away – there was no way I was going to feed my growing baby that tainted meat on that processed to death sesame seed bun!

(Yup. The silly hyperbole will only get even more over the top now. Taco Bell and Burger King will kill your unborn child like that, don't you know! WOW! )

...

I have heard most mamas stop enjoying green vegetables during this time – thankfully that is not the case for me, I still LOVE kale and all things green (with a slice of hot cheese pizza please – haha). Actually my Melt In Your Mouth Kale Salad has been on serious repeat lately and is the one dish that doesn’t give me the pregnancy burbs! I’ll be sharing some more of the comfort food recipes I’ve been making soon.

(That's right. The great researcher "heard" ... And, yes, only food marketed as organic under her name will save her child, and your child, too!)

..."

I have no idea why you would dislike a woman who has been responsible for for pushing corporations to take additives, hormones and unnecessary chemicals out of the food supply. You seem think this is a bad thing. It makes no sense. Why do you want additives in your food? So you dislike her because she got Papa John's Pizza to take artificial colors, sodium benzoate, and hidden msg out of their food. Does it upset you that McDonalds will be using real butter rather than transfats?

Working with other groups and bloggers, Vani's (The Food Babe) successes (shortened) from her web page:

Tue Jul 19, 2016, 10:39 AM

Even I can see that she plays fast and loose with the facts, to wit:

Take, for example, Hari's campaign urging beer-makers to reveal the ingredients in their brews. Among the ingredients that concerned Hari was propylene glycol, a chemical used in antifreeze. But, as cancer surgeon and blogger David Gorski writes, the product used in some beers to stabilize foam is actually propylene glycol alginate — which is derived from kelp. "It is not the same chemical as propylene glycol, not even close. It is not antifreeze," he wrote.

I rarely agree with HuckleB on food fights but I do here. "Food babe" is at best a piss poor investigator, at worst a self-promoter whose idea of investigation is "whatever."

She is also against GMO's , so they hate her for that. Vani Hari ,The Food Babe, with the help of her bloggers and activist groups has forced many corporations to take additives out of our food supply. The corporations hate her and have paid shills big time to discredit her. Vani was overweight with health problems before she changed her way of eating. Like this "article" she scrubbed from her website but has been saved forever thanks to the intertubes...

I guess if someone has no more than an eighth grade education they might fall for her shit

Check these fine passages-

"A few facts about what airplanes do to your body -

When your body is in the air, at a seriously high altitude, your body under goes some serious pressure. Just think about it – Airplanes thrive in places we don’t. You are traveling in a pressurized cabin, and when your body is pressurized, it gets really compressed!"

MORE

"The air you are breathing on an airplane is recycled from directly outside of your window. That means you are breathing everything that the airplanes gives off and is flying through. The air that is pumped in isn’t pure oxygen either, it’s mixed with nitrogen, sometimes almost at 50%. To pump a greater amount of oxygen in costs money in terms of fuel and the airlines know this! The nitrogen may affect the times and dosages of medications, make you feel bloated and cause your ankles and joints swell."

MORE

And my favorite line---

Choose a seat as close to the front as possible. Pilots control the amount of airflow and it is is always better in their cabin.

Maybe it's just me, but I can see that nearly 70% of Americans can benefit from doing such crazy and insane stuff, such as not drinking soda, eating actual fresh fruit and vegetables and much less meat, and not eating processed junk food crap during their 12 meals a day.

More than 2 in 3 adults reading this are considered to be overweight or obese.
More than 1 in 3 adults reading this considered to be obese.
More than 1 in 20 adults reading this are considered to have extreme obesity.
About one-third of children and adolescents ages 6 to 19 are considered to be overweight or obese.
More than 1 in 6 children and adolescents ages 6 to 19 are considered to be obese.

She's definitely not encouraging anything foolish, and while she may not be a board certified scientist or doctor, it doesn't take an idiot to know that anything with a list of unpronounceable ingredients is pretty much toxic, nutrition-less crap. If her choice of narrative or information delivery method works for anyone in taking steps towards achieving a healthy, chemical free and lower weight life, then yee hah, let her have at it.

So her choice of sharing this information isn't hurting anyone, except perhaps the giant corporations who pay billions of bucks to shovel their adverts down the throats of people too lazy to get up off their butts from in front of their teevees.

Sour grapes? Bitter pill? Whatever, get over it. Why would you bash people who are doing something positive and life changing that benefits others?

on her front page! That's just shameful.

Worse, is her work against Monsanto and GMO foods. What a total loser she is! Frankly, I find her recipes for all things sweet potato to be subversive and undermining the entire premise (and profits) upon which Lil Debbie sells her ring dings.

This woman has no shame. She's a witch. Burn her at the stake!

Sarcasm off, I think she's absolutely right in pretty much everything she's championing and exposing. She's doing just fine. Blowing the tops off the corporations intent on profiting from your ill-health by shoving their crap, lies and deceit down everyone's throat, literally, is downright heroic. No wonder the giant corps are scared out of their wits.

But go ahead and hit up Taco Bell! Go ahead and suck down gallons of cows milk laced with antibiotics, yum! Nibble on those grapes (they're fresh though, be careful) filled with toxic pesticides. Make a HUGE sandwich out of plastic bread, fake mayo consisting of nothing but chemicals, lettuce soaked in urine, and tomatoes covered in pesticides, and bacon made from tortured, factory farmed pigs who live their entire lives in cages and stuffed with hormones and antibiotics. Sounds Yummy!

I don't eat fake food. I buy fresh, eat small portions and rarely eat meat. I bake cakes, cookies, make my own ice cream, my own pasta, when so inclined, and only buy fresh bread. I make my own sauces, from alfredo to hollandaise, buy eggs from local farmers and only use milk in my coffee, tea and in baking. I don't drink fruit juice or soda, I drink water or wine. Or booze. I like booze in small amounts...

Why do I do all this? BECAUSE THESE ARE THE HEALTHY CHOICES that I make. I know if I can't pronounce it, it's fake. I like real food. Nothing I buy can use a coupon, because it's not fake.

And BTW, American beers suck. European beers rock, especially Belgian. Trappist monks are very cool.

Thanks for turning me on to her site, that looks like a great source of information to share!
