Jim HIGHTOWER: Half of the $94M in the Rethug primaries came from these 7 plutocrats

7 Plutocrats That Bankrolled the GOP Primary -- and What They Want in Return
Name that plutocrat!

Hightower Lowdown / by Jim HIGHTOWER

.... ...Of the $94 million amassed by SuperPACs backing the major GOP wannabes (Romney, Santorum, Paul, Gingrich, and Perry), nearly half came from these seven men:

Sheldon Adelson, $21.5 million. ... One of the 10 richest billionaires in our country, this 78-year-old longtime funder of Republicans and the ultra-right literally built his fortune on gaming the system. He now reigns over the Las Vegas Sands Corporation that runs luxury casinos in the US and China's special administrative region, Macau. ....

Harold Simmons, $5.2 million. An 80-year-old multi-billionaire based in Dallas, this hardcore rightist is both a corporate buccaneer and political profiteer, often combining the two to line his own pockets. ....

Bob Perry, $4.1 million. .... In the current campaign, Perry dropped a token $100,000 into Rick's 2012 presidential flop, before putting $4 million into Romney's SuperPAC. In addition, Perry has been a longtime deep pocket for Karl Rove's right-wing rampages and other extremist political ventures, including being top donor to the 2004 "Swift Boat" ad blitz and--no surprise--then giving $500,000 to Wisconsin's autocratic, anti-worker governor, Scott Walker. Rove's Obama-bashing SuperPAC has already banked $2.5 million from Perry for this year's election mischief and will likely be blessed with much more. ....

It has nothing to do with us. It has to do with their desire to make more money and control the direction of the country in regards to making more money. Its all those workers and pesky unions and environmental regulations and trade regulations... If they were gone and suppressed then the rich would get richer.
It is true they hate us but only in so far as we prevent their making even more money.

One thing about money power, they ignore party lines and dabble everywhere. Money decides who will be the candidate no matter the party.

and, of course, the great thing about the primary was that these plutocrats spent money trying to defeat each other. This fall they will have their eyes on the prize. But how much of this fall is going to be similar to the Republican primary?

As in, members of the top 10% going against each other, with the bottom 90% unrepresented?

They're my two favorite Texans. I always pictured Ann Richards as the first female POTUS. She would have been so great. Sigh. I can't believe a state that voted Ann Richards into the Governor's office also voted in Rick Perry (and Bush). And yet has someone like Jim Hightower still there. I guess Texas is a little bipolar.

He spends a lot on Texas politicians and religious charter schools. He is a good Christian who wants to swift boat all of our heathen asses! If not for Perry and people like him here, Texas would not be half so red. If the DNC would fight Repugs everywhere we might be in play, but no one wants to "waste the money."

gambling casinos, pyramid schemes and pollution?

This is a must-read list because it helps Democrats figure out what kinds of companies to avoid doing business with.

Avoid "gaming," anything that looks like a pyramid scheme and you are 2/3 of the way there.

Yep! The idiots who buy Dixie Cup products; gamble at their casino's; buy Dell Computers; shop at Walmart and Amazon and patronize the businesses of these jokers have no right to complain.

You may send a message with your vote but your dollars speak a lot louder. Why give ammunition to those trying to shoot you? Either wise up or quit crying!!!!!!

So Adelson contributing 21.5 million dollars is like someone with a thousand dollars giving you $21.50. He is worth around 6 bil, this statement is based a billion dollars. Point being even a million dollars is chump change for them. Of course they aren't throwing it away they will get a lot in return if their people get in.
They should not be able to simply buy an election. Why isn't everybody pissed off about this?

Who make money from war
Who make dough from fear and lies
Who want the world like it is

Who want the world to be ruled by imperialism and
National oppression and Terror
Violence, and hunger and poverty.

Who is the ruler of Hell?
Who is the most powerful

Who you know ever Seen God?

But everybody seen The Devil.
