Who's on the bench in Virginia?

Other than Congressman Bobby Scott and Governor Terry McAuliffe? Is there anyone who actually has the star power to win that Senate seat in a special election? I don't know Virginia, so no offense to Scott or McAuliffe.

Surely there are some prominent dems living outside the beltway that don't hold an office.

It focuses on potential appointees but it may also help address your question on who could win an election.

Timing of the special election, to coincide with the usual off year gubernatorial election, may help Democrats due to better turnout.
