Some RW people I know were having a fit there were no flags on the stage or on peoples lapels

during the DNC convention.....

"Anyone notice there were no flags on the stage when the former president spoke....and he had no flag pin on. Wow...just amazing.

That was one of the first thing I noticed.....no flags and the was looking for one on "it's" lapel.... like you said Carol...... WOW....where is their American Pride!!!!!??!!!

I've been watching, going back and forth between CSPAN, CNN, FNC and commentators kept asking about the lack of flags on that stage.. Am also waiting to hear them discuss ISIS and other terrible things that can and will harm us if not gotten rid of... Instead they have the mothers of boys who were shot..........nuff said.

Probably afraid they would offend someone with a show of patriotism"

I erased the names of these three people who were so upset.

Not like with the GOP where it's art (and not the Jasper Johns kind), wardrobe choice, eyewear, or any other prop.

I mean you want to talk desecration, that shit should be downright unconstitutional

My beloved Cavs just won the Championship and the next thing I know, there's the "Elephant getting ready to stomp a baby seal" logo and flags, flags, FLAGS EVERYWHERE!!!

They can dip them in blood and hundred dollar bills, as that's symbolic of what America's really about anymore.

Somewhere in the depths of my memory, I'm thinking that this is not the first time I've heard this complaint. Something about Obama and a flag lapel pin?

Perhaps we could just quote Obama back to them. He was right then, and he's still right.

“Somebody noticed I wasn’t wearing a flag lapel pin and I told folks, well you know what? I haven’t probably worn that pin in a very long time. I wore it right after 9/11. But after a while, you start noticing people wearing a lapel pin, but not acting very patriotic. Not voting to provide veterans with resources that they need. Not voting to make sure that disability payments were coming out on time.

“My attitude is that I’m less concerned about what you’re wearing on your lapel than what’s in your heart. And you show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those who served. You show your patriotism by being true to our values and our ideals and that’s what we have to lead with is our values and our ideals.”

With that, Mr. Obama returned to his regularly scheduled speech here in Independence, where the town motto is, “America’s Fame Is In Our Name.”

while mothers speaking out about their children being shot is apparently way over their heads.

Oh, and another complaint of Republicans is that no family members of deceased cops were speaking, which completely contradicts the consternation at having mothers of child/victims speaking.
