Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsNo, he's not going to release his tax forms and he is not going to debate...
He is going to continue to call names and lie about everything. He is not going to change.
He is going to continue to be an embarrassment and a threat to our democracy. He is going to continue to attack anyone that criticizes him in even the slightest way. He is going to continue to be the vulgar, divisive candidate of the Republican Party. He is going to continue calling his opponent "Crooked Hillary".
There is nothing the media can say about him that will change the minds of his supporters.
If the Democrats do not take back the Senate, we are truly up shit creek, if this dastardly grifter becomes President.
Yes, it is depressing.
All we can say is, "Get the hell out and vote!"

(2,657 posts)The insanity of this situation, the way that it is so unacceptable to all reasonable people, is EXACTLY what he and his sleazeball followers want.

(12,381 posts)Local community gains, media gains etc.... Communities pay to secure/ security, set up venues, vendors...So, how can the voters just roll over for Trump's tantrum?
If he backs out...will he also be held accountable financially?

(135,425 posts)If not specifically agreed to in advance, they'd have a hard time collecting.

(12,381 posts)The GOP would then be held accountable I assume....they would of made contractual agreement with the host.

(65,357 posts)incoherently rambling, she can respond intelligently to the questions the moderators have prepared for the debates.
And before each question, the moderators can reference the fact that they had prepared questions for Trump, but he backed out of the debates at the last minute, perhaps to avoid having to respond to important questions.

(135,425 posts)If they covered his wiglet flapping in the breeze, or his trousers flapping as he farts, that would be one thing--but they only cover the screaming, yelling "Mouth That Roars" bloviating.

(45,002 posts)I get a sense that Trump's supporters are starting to flee.
I don't have a ton of Republican pals on FB but just this week,
I've seen a few really stunning rebukes of everything Donald.
Basically, pretty hardcore but old school Republicans calling
on their friends to do everything in their power to defeat Trump.
And the follow-on GOP chatter was highly supportive. It seems
that Trump's beating up on a Gold Star family has finally sickened
quite a few diehard Republicans. I never thought I'd ever
see such a thing. Trump's fortunes may be turning from within

(8,419 posts)No mention of Trump (positive) what so ever.
I have noticed either silence from the previous pro Trump crowd along with a strange phenomenon, posts of Reagan, or Ted Nugent, or some other Republican, promoting their views. Almost like they are trying to justify their existence by posting 10 to 40 year old clips.

(12,814 posts).. so that Republican voters won't get the relief of a "regular" Republican to vote for should one quickly be deployed in Trump's place. I'd prefer their party to remain split and chaotic.
That said... if/when Trump goes down in flames, I doubt many Republicans or conservatives -- leadership, talking heads, or regular voters -- will have learned a damn thing about the stupid path their party has been following for the last 30 years. Most of them will probably claim, "Well obviously Trump wasn't a 'REAL conservative!'" (which is probably actually true) and then they'll keep running Tea Partyists at the state and local level as if nothing at all frightening had very nearly happened to the country they hold so dear.
