Hero Dog Saves Stricken Owner By Smashing Window To Summon Help, Cops Say

NORTHVALE – Police are crediting a dog with helping to save the life of its owner, a woman who suffered a medical emergency and lay unconscious inside the home for several days.

Two women were walking near the home shortly before 8 p.m. Friday when they heard glass break and a dog barking loudly, according to Northvale Police Chief William Essmann.

The women called police.

"Our officers observed the broken pane of glass next to the front door with the dog inside the home," Essmann said in a statement.

The officers called out for anyone inside the home to come out but there was no response, Essmann said. The officers then entered the home, where they found the resident unconscious.

when she was attacked in her yard while gardening. Neighbor's "guard" Pit Bull who was not leashed and jumped the fence.

Her dog jumped through the window and attacked the other dog to save his Mommy. Another neighbor heard the dogs and her screams and hit the attack dog with a baseball bat until he ran away. This was both another dog AND a human trying to stop this dog.

No, I am not blaming the Pit Bull Dog but an IRRESPONSIBLE Owner for training him to be like this, and then not restraining him outside. It could have been a child this happened to.

Animals are not bad. Their HUMANS are.

Got my attention and alerted me told me my space heater was going to short out he sat by the cord looking at the heater to the plug back and forth fast .heater made a noise I got it unplugged it. From the look of the heater if Vinny didn't wake me up and do what he did the house might have burnt down. My cats have warned me of dangers and saved my butt plenty. I am forever grateful to them.

One of my dogs stood in front of a window air conditioner in the kitchen window and barked and barked until I got up to ask him if he wanted out. I saw sparks coming out of the outlet. I shut off the a/c and unplugged it. My husband is putting a new one in today after an electrician comes to check out the outlet. We were literally 15 min. away from going to bed when this happened.
