Another GOP idiot learning of the existence of karma;
Yelton was fired from his job way back in 2013 after he told The Daily Show that his states new voter ID law would hurt Democratic voters. Specifically, he said that if the law hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it.
An appeals court last week found that the voter ID law was indeed designed to be discriminatory and it even cited Yeltons remarks to The Daily Show as part of its case for striking down the law.
Yelton was furious about this, and over the weekend he went on an unhinged rant against the ruling on his Facebook page. In particular, Yelton was angry that Buncombe County GOP Chairman Nathan West once again trashed him for being a racist.
Such a delicate little flower, this Yelton fellow. Well Yelton, bed. Made. Lie.

(43,044 posts)How the fog can a public figure (former or otherwise) even talk like that.

(53,790 posts)yes, i know "that" is not proper grammar; it should be "who", because "that" is for inanimate objects.
i used it because yelton used it when describing "lazy blacks". if he's going to refer to black people as inanimate objects, i don't feel bad about referring to him as such.

(112,691 posts)As a noun meaning empty talk or nonsense, bunk has a well-documented origin. In 1820, when U.S. Congressman Felix Walker gave a long, irrelevant speech solely to delay voting on the Missouri Compromise, he said it was for Buncombe, referring to his constituents in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Buncombe instantly came to mean nonsensical talk.
Bunkum later become the more common spelling, though many writers still honor the words origins by spelling it buncombe. In any case, its usually shortened to bunk.

So the next time somebody tells you "what a load of bunk!" you know where it's coming from and that Don Yelton is keeping tradition alive.

(2,108 posts)That we should hear the whole sentence.
But honestly I don't know what words you could say before "hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it" that would change the meaning other than
"Here's what I don't believe:"

There was a time in this country when it would have been "60 Minutes" who got Yelton to make that remark. But no more.

But first, on a personal note, Mandvi's incredulous, gaping reaction and this question are almost my favourite TDS moment.
"You know we can hear you, right?"
Anyway....this is a C&P from his FB page. I have to say, I have a little more sympathy for him after learning how developmentally disabled he is.
"Well the Republicans again show their stupidity. Frankly Nathan I would keep my mouth shut unless you DON NOT BELIEVE IN FREEDOM OF SPEACH which it seems that you don't. Not only that how is you money spending going? Now the real proof is that the Court uses a comedy show and a cut and pasted clip to prove a case. Think that if the party gives a shit they would ask me what I said in its complete sentence. It would show exactly what I said. NATHAN YOU BETTER be more concerned about the total take over of this county by the progressives. This also shows the justice system totally corrupt where are your comments on that.Well the Republicans again show their stupidity.
