him after denigrating a Gold Star Family, that they will vote for him no matter what he says or does.
No matter what he says or does? Really?
Does that mean Trump could say pedophilia is OK or commit it on prime time television and they would still support him?
Folks. This speaks to the mentality of his committed supporters. I'm not saying they are dumb or stupid. I am saying they're ignorant of the fact that murder is illegal. These people are dangerous. There has already been reports of attacks on the categories of people who Trump is degrading.
Minorities and even Liberals are in danger. If this potential despotic megalomaniac actually gets into office. There will be bloodshed. There are extreme factions to both the left liberal/progressive believers and the right conservative believers. Left wing beliefs more entail defending yourself and right wingers take a more offensive tack. The extreme end of both of these can be dangerous. It's also dangerous at "opposite ends". From the conservative rich and powerful to the less powerful and poor. The conservative rich/powerful want the less powerful fighting among themselves. Not paying attention. That way the less powerful will be unaware of the theft of everything that protects humanity. All in the name of profit.
If that means cannon fodder for the corporations. That's a valuable commodity for right wing theocratic corporate fascism to survive. It also creates targets for right wingnut followers to take matters into they're own hands.
Both sides have guns. Trump is stirring the pot. Poking the hornets nest.

(15,526 posts)... who are so convinced, after years of right-wing propaganda, that our government is so corrupt that it needs destroyed.
In fact, I'd like to see a survey of them in which they're asked if our government should be completely dismantled. If anyone has seen such a survey, please share! I'd like to know if my suspicions based on personal experiences with Tea Party nuts are widespread.
I also think many of them are drama queens. I'd like to transport many of them back to the Great Depression to give them some needed perspective!

(21,506 posts)This clown has not had a chance from the beginning to win the presidency and he is closer and closer to that being completely obvious every day. As if it already isn't obvious.
He won a nomination in a party split 11 ways. That does not make him a strong candidate. A party that already had little or no shot at the presidency before this buffoon got the nod. He has not done a single thing to improve his chances since day one.
Fox and friends have completely destroyed their own party with dog whistles and appeals to ignorance over decades to the point that the biggest idiot on the stage became the most attractive to the party faithful
That does not mean he is a viable presidential candidate. In fact what it really means is they have destroyed their own party with thier decades long quest for electoral wins at any cost.
This has been the most entertaining election of my life and the Dem side constantly flipping out as if this clown has ever had any shot at the presidency is almost as fun to watch as the colossal implosion on the other side.

(13,305 posts)...if Trump drops out or gets kicked off the ticket (the former is more likely than the latter), whoever he gets replaced with will immediately get the support of the moderate Republicans that Trump has alienated, and STILL get every single Trump voter.
The Trump voters are the floor of the Republican party. Those people will never, ever not for any reason, NOT voter for the Republican candidate. No matter what happens or who it is. Period.
Right now Trump is within 10 points of HIllary in most polls, and Gary Johnson (the republican alternative to Trump and Hillary) is polling at about 10%. Anyone who would replace Trump is going to catch up to Hillary within 1-2 weeks time and anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves.

(13,305 posts)either way, the point remains the same. Let's be careful what we wish for. We want him on the ticket until the very end.
