Some dummies like scientists have the wrong impression that such DNA evidence indicates Africans existed far longer than everyone else -- i.e., their DNA had more time to mutate over several millennia.

Meanwhile, most people around the rest of the world have mitochondrial DNA that most closely matches the people from NE Africa.

The obvious answer is that God decided to bombard Africa with more cosmic rays to cause a higher rate of mutation!
