Fox in 8-figure settlement talks with Carlson amid evidence of taped conversations with Ailes

Huge: Fox in 8-figure settlement talks with Carlson amid evidence of taped conversations with Ailes & multiple women

EXCLUSIVE: INSIDE THE FOX NEWS BUNKER
In the subterranean newsroom, fear is everywhere. “Hacking was bad,” says one person familiar with the internal investigation. “This is arguably worse.”

.....................

Meanwhile, 21st Century Fox has begun discussing a settlement in the Gretchen Carlson lawsuit against Ailes, according to two people familiar with the negotiations. The company is requesting that Ailes, who has denied all Carlson’s allegations, fund at least a portion of the settlement, which is expected to reach eight figures, these people said. At issue in the settlement talks is the existence of audio tapes recorded by multiple women in conversation with Ailes, two people familiar with the tapes said. Ailes' lawyers have argued that any negotiation with Carlson should take place in private arbitration, but the specter of a public trial looms. “If they litigate the case, all the tapes will become public, directly and through others,” this person said. “Then you will have a parade of women come in. Nobody wants that.” (Ailes, through his lawyer, denied all allegations.)

I think a lot of folks may enjoy listening to those tapes.

Why does our legal system allow rich bastards to make a payment, and then have the records of their malfeasance erased?

Especially when justice is involved.

Make it 9 figures!

In fact, sign Fox over to her Rupert.

Couldn't hurt.

One hopes that they cannot, that they (and Ailes) will take the full brunt of the hit. Just the fact that the Fox culture -- one which maybe many people suspected for years -- allowed such things to happen, speaks volumes as to their credibility as a news source. They are not so much that than they are a vehicle to bring nubile, young blondes into Ailes' chambers, no doubt preferably nude.

The whole thing is disgusting.

Yeah, I'm all for hearing Roger Ailes and what he thinks are smooth moves with the ladies and sure-fire pick-up lines. I might never stop vomiting, but yeah, I want to hear what Ailes thinks appeals to women. So that Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog can poop on it!

14. My three true stories on sexual harassment
Tue Aug 9, 2016, 09:13 PM
Aug 2016

I worked for Sears and one of our junior managers would harass new female employees. Then one day this very beautiful woman showed up to work. Sure enough there goes the manager after her. Two days later both were gone. It seems that the woman was an undercover PI sent in by corporate. I knew that something was up this woman was just to smart, her vocabulary and beauty to be working part time as a sales clerk.

I taught at a community college business classes. My advice to female students about sexual harassment was to secretly record the conversations. They might not be admissible in court, but could be played in a boardroom and get an of out of court settlement and get the guy fired. Most sexual harassment is always one on one.

In Texas on an offshore oil rig, there was a man who did not like nude pictures of women posted at the job site. His coworkers than went out of their way to paste posters all over the rig. He sued them for sexual harassment and won his case.
