His representatives insist he can; former major league catcher Chad Moeller, who counted Tebow as a pupil at his baseball school this summer, says he sees bat speed and power and real baseball talent. I truly believe Tim has the skill set and potential to achieve his goal of playing in the Major Leagues, and based on what I have seen over the past two months, it could happen relatively quickly."
Well find out soon. His upcoming open tryout will surely draw at least an area scout from many perhaps all - major league clubs. It seems unlikely hell show enough with the bat to make the distractions and there will be some worthwhile.

(5,737 posts)If he can hit Class A pitchers, they might let him stay there for a year. Then they might move him up to Class AA for another year or two. If he is still around, he might make it to AAA the year after that. That would put him at 34 years old. The difference in A and AAA pitchers is huge.

(37,182 posts)He's not going to be a baseball player. He does not have the talent for it. You can "pick up" the game late in life and become a major league player. It takes well above average level of talent + years of playing to hone your skill in order to become a mediocre player on the major league level.
Tebow gets a lot of chances that other people never get simply because of his celebrity, persona, and fundie values.
If he had major league talent, he would already be playing...
Just put this in the "Garth Brooks playing for the Padres" category of publicity stunts...
