Married Nebraska state senator fined $1,000 for having cyber-sex, with other woman, on state laptop

refuses to resign. He owned up to the activity after the woman threatened to blackmail him.

Two guesses as to which party he's in and the first one doesn't count.

At least the Governor is calling on him to resign.

The story:

Nebraska senator admits to engaging in cybersex
Sen. Bill Kintner fined, called to resign

Kintner describes himself as a "Reagan conservative" and not a "Christian conservative".[5] Kintner has said that "moral absolutes of Christianity" informs his views including on abortion.[3] In the Lincoln Journal Star he is quoted as saying "My parents taught me the moral absolutes of Christianity, and I just applied those to everything. They didn't tell me I had to be pro-life. They gave me the belief system that I used." -- Wikipedia

But the laptop probably wouldn't have fared very well.

On beliefs they don't live up to, and when they do it on the public dime, it becomes public business. If he wasn't busy trying to legislate people having to stick to his morals which he falls short of, it would be different. And doing it on his work computer is just dumb. I'd be fired in a heartbeat for that.

Sex & porn & "dating" sites on his own computer would be no big deal. If he picks up a computer virus then it's all on him.

If a state computer is compromised worse things might happen.

Employees in the real world are frequently fired when they're caught fucking around on their employer's computers.

Not really something I choose to focus or worry about myself, though. As I'd rather not stoop down to the level of those people. But I do understand the desire to point out the "do as I say, but not as I do" stuff.
