After Gretchen Carlson sued Roger Ailes for sexual harassment and Megyn Kelly reportedly backed her up, Ailes was ousted from his role as CEO of Fox News. Then, earlier this month, Andrea Tantaros spoke out. The outspoken host of Outnumbered had disappeared from her show without a peep. It stirred up rumors and questions, but no one knew where she was until a few weeks ago, when she revealed that after she went to executives with her complaints that Ailes harassed her, she was unceremoniously pulled from the air. Only after Carlson came forward did Tantaros share her story.
Today, she sued, claiming top executives retaliated against her for complaining. According to the New York Times, heres what her suit says:
Fox News has maintained since April that she was benched for writing a book without their permission, thus breaching a contract. Tantaros lawyer says that during arbitration, she was offered a seven-figure sum if she promised to recant her accusations against Ailes and, interestingly, Bill OReilly, who has been defending Ailes against harassment allegations all summer. She refused and her lawsuit says this:

There are other shoes to drop out there. Interesting that O'falafel's name is cropping up associated with harassment again.
Edit to add: This action also explains Mudoch's rapid departure from the helm last week backfilling with a couple of patsies. He saw there was no quick fix and he wants some daylight between his money and this mess. Signaling they're on their own.

Good on her

(33,032 posts)I don't know anything about her. But, from other whisps of smoke I've seen rising from that cesspit over the years I have to believe these revelations are only a tiny part of what is going on there.
Hopefully, they don't reach her hush number before irreparable damage has been done to the host organism.

(10,266 posts)Yes that's exactly how traditional Republican family values operate. If she didn't know, possibly that's forgivable (but only if she's spent the last half-century or so living on the fucking moon).
If she hasnt, and thought that somehow she was supposed to be immune from what that meant, than she's dumber than a box of broken rocks and it's very hard to have a lot of sympathy for her. Still, I hope these stories keep coming...Faux Nooz needs a reckoning the same as the GOP; it's time.

(421 posts)The Republicans crapped all over their phony "family values" facade long ago. At least now their actual degenerate "Republican Casino Values" are out in the open.
People who think of themselves as "Christian" and at the same time support the corrupt Republican Party are engaging in ABSOLUTE HYPOCRISY up the freaking wazoo.

(18,837 posts)...I can understand sticking around Fox, once the beast has revealed itself, because of my own experiences in working for Cisco Systems for three years.
No idea what working there is like in 2016, but when I worked there, it was a meat grinder, abusive, and a cult, sort of like what is being said about Fox.
And because of their carefully manicured public image...also much like Fox...if someone quits or gets fired, it's because there is something wrong with them, not with Cisco, because who in their right mind would leave such an amazing and well-loved organization?
In terms of sexual harassment, not so much. There was some making the beast with two backs stuff going on, but most of the people I worked with were too physically and mentally fatigued and worried about keeping their jobs to spend too much time thinking about humping. Cisco isn't "sexy" or "sexual" and any sexual overtones come from a Caligula vibe where sex isn't sex, it's a means to an end, and that end is power.
Or if you want to go Eagles on this, "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave." Unless you are fired or "laid off." They just announced more mass layoffs last week.
