I don't like Facebook's "trending" change

Instead of giving a short sentence summary of why something is trending, Facebook now just shows what the topic is in a word or two and indicates how many people are "talking about this." It will undoubtedly lead to more clicks because users will want to get a sense of why, but it will also result in more time wasted clicking on things that really aren't of interest.

Sigh.

Does anyone prefer the new "trending" format?

But if you just hover your cursor over the link a box pops up with a little synopsis. Then you can click if you're interested.

Or at least give me the option to eliminate it. I generally don't care what's "trending" because 99% of the time it's bullshit entertainment news.

If it's important, I'll hear about it from somewhere else, or I'll see it "trending" in a friend's posts anyway.

I don't get news from Facebook. I just use Facebook to find out friends and family daily occurances.

It turns out humans still have some advantages over computer programs:

Three days after removing human editors, Facebook is already trending fake news

I like that you have to click on it first, in order to see anything. That way I can hopefully avoid the most of it.
