It is said that we have no immigration plan and that President Obama dropped the ball on this.

I believe we had a fairly good immigration reform plan that the Senate passed in 2013 with a fair amount of GOP support. That same bill, passed by the Senate, went to the House where it was simply ignored and never brought up for a vote thanks to the GOP controlled House who never wanted President Obama to receive any credit for immigration reform.

Further, that bill seems to include much of what Mr. Trump says is needed. Because it wasn't voted on in the House, the President, by Executive Order, put in place some measures which, as of yesterday, Mr. Trump voiced his agreement with what the President did by repeating most of the provisions of those actions as his own proposal.
