Just heard this little tid bit about how the press covers politics...

They were talking about Newt going negative...

This is what was said: We should be talking about the truth of Newts charges against Romney and Paul instead; we are forced to talk about Newts decision to go negative...

Seriously.

How fucked up is that scenario.

Far be it from me to be on the side of Newt, but who is actually forcing the media to focus on going negative instead of discussion the charges.

This, to me at least, tells us how shallow and bankrupt the presidential media truly is.

Its plain lazy on the part of the media. It is downright disingenuous to claim they are forced to cover what is essentially gossip.

We do not have news programing anymore, what we have is talking heads giving their opinion of some headlined event, as if we were unable to draw opinions of our own were we to be given the facts. Of course there is no indication that the talking head has any facts, despite their constant movement around the globe to try to give the impression that they are on the scene and should be aware of events.

In truth is is the decision of the newspapers and the TV newsrooms to cut cost to the minimum that cost us any chance of hearing factual reporting, to have facts you have to have people on the ground gathering them and them a support (editing) staff to sort them out. Now days there is neither.

They love gossip because it's cheap, and it actually satisfies enough of their viewers/readers tho keep the ad dollars coming in.

The "reporters" always have a favorite team, which their "reports" always favor - usually Republicans. They are more interested in the personalities, scores and the strategies of each team rather than how each team's policies would effect average people.

While the media doesn't talk about what it should talk about,
it meanwhiles talks about what it shouldn't talk about,
it further brings up how they aren't doing what they should be doing.
They know that they are not going to be called out for doing the opposite
of what they are saying they should do, cause they are the ones who do the "calling out"......

They do this with just about everything,
and they get away with it 99% of the time.

They don't give a damn what they should really do.
