(9,527 posts)Sam Ukwuachu and Tevin Elliott were both protected by Baylor from rape charges. Lawrence Taylor was caught with a 16 year old prostitute and got probation. Jameis Winston had both Florida State and the local police cover up for him raping a woman.
Athletes in general receive favorable treatment.
It also feels pertinent to point out that Brandon Vandenberg was also convicted and sentenced to 15 to 25 years in the same rape as Batey. Vandenberg is white.

In one, the defendant was involved in moving the unconscious woman with buddies. In the other, she walked.
In one, there was video. In the other, not.
In one the defendant was uncooperative and in the other, cooperative.
Different judges.
Different laws.
Etc.
