"FEDERAL INVESTIGATION INTO TRUMP UNIVERSITY"

Democrats Press for Federal Investigation Into Trump University
By BENJAMIN SIEGEL
Sep 13, 2016, 7:39 PM ET

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee wrote to the Department of Justice today asking Attorney General Loretta Lynch to look into the Donald J. Trump Foundation’s $25,000 donation to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The letter follows an extensive Washington Post report on Trump's eponymous charitable organization. Trump aides told the newspaper that the foundation mistakenly donated $25,000 to a group backing Bondi in 2013, while her office was considering an investigation into Trump University.

"This fact pattern indicates that these payments may have influenced Ms. Bondi's official decision not to participate in litigation against Mr. Trump," Democrats wrote in their letter.

Trump's campaign paid a penalty to the Internal Revenue Service for violating tax laws.

" AMY GOODMAN: That’s the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, which oversees the Atlantic City casinos.

DAVID CAY JOHNSTON: Right.

AMY GOODMAN: What can we learn from their dealings with Donald Trump?

DAVID CAY JOHNSTON: Well, this shows how masterful Donald Trump is at manipulating law enforcement. He told the attorney general of New Jersey, when he wanted a casino license, "I’m not going to go through the 18 months that all these other people have gone through," and demanded he be investigated in just 90 days. Everybody else, year and a half. The attorney general agreed to six months if Donald cooperated.

Then Donald hid things, including four grand jury investigations that Wayne Barrett found. Four of them. In New Jersey, a woman applying for a blackjack dealer license—that’s a very low-level license—was found morally unfit and denied a license because, as a teenager, she gave friends of hers discounts at the cash register. That’s the legal standard. Donald withheld these grand jury investigations. He withheld associations with mobsters and criminals. And yet he got licensed anyway. Well, once he was licensed, the bureaucracy at the Division of Gaming Enforcement made sure that Donald was never asked a question that would put his license in jeopardy, because that would force them to admit that they hadn’t done their job. He has the only big hotel in the heart of Vegas without a casino. Because he can't pass a background check involving business practices and organized crime connections from the Nevada Gaming Commission.

How Donald Trump Bankrupted His Atlantic City Casinos, but Still Earned Millions

ATLANTIC CITY — The Trump Plaza Casino and Hotel is now closed, its windows clouded over by sea salt. Only a faint outline of the gold letters spelling out T-R-U-M-P remains visible on the exterior of what was once this city’s premier casino.

Not far away, the long-failing Trump Marina Hotel Casino was sold at a major loss five years ago and is now known as the Golden Nugget.

At the nearly deserted eastern end of the boardwalk, the Trump Taj Mahal, now under new ownership, is all that remains of the casino empire Donald J. Trump assembled here more than a quarter-century ago. Years of neglect show: The carpets are frayed and dust-coated chandeliers dangle above the few customers there to play the penny slot machines.

On the presidential campaign trail, Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, often boasts of his success in Atlantic City, of how he outwitted the Wall Street firms that financed his casinos and rode the value of his name to riches. A central argument of his candidacy is that he would bring the same business prowess to the Oval Office, doing for America what he did for his companies.

Frozen by whom? I got 23 with only a few hundred readers. Now, several hours after the initial Opening Post, over 1,000 readers and no one else decided not to recommend this Opening Post? Does recommendation distribution, by other readers and WRITERS, @ D.U. seem a bit fishy?

Some hackers - perhaps of foreign government -are manipulating numbers at Democratic Underground. Anyone deliberately working with enemies of the USA to disrupt communications is committing treason. I admire plenty of readers, who write great Opening Posts at D.U. and they are probably having similar problems. My main concern is those other Opening Posts and the computer system that keeps us connected to a lesser degree than it did in the past. I suspect these cyber-attacks and others will increase. Several thousand readers on an Opening Post, during a presidential election, is important to numerous groups, including foreign governments and paid hackers with a political agenda. Here is better - more obvious - proof: Although I made numerous kicks comments and posted funny pictures on several Opening Posts, the complete history of my replies, at Democratic Underground, remained frozen for days and then some of them vanished, as I typed this message. Next, I fully expect some punk hacker to attempt to alter this evidence to make it appear that this comment is a crazy report. This time, these cyber-attackers will get the justice they so richly deserve, instead of making me appear paranoid or foolish! WE CAN OVERBURDEN THESE HACKERS AND FORCE THEM TO REVEAL THEIR CRIMES IN A PUBLIC FORUM! According to what I see, I have allegedly made only 13,243 comments of ANY kind at Democratic Underground, since I began writing here.

As you realize, trolls have always commented on superfluous Opening Posts by me, you and other good writers, at Democratic Underground. But what this thread describes, implies that hackers are manipulating the server at Democratic Underground. Are you seeing unusual (criminal) cyber-activity, as the number of readers and recommendations are hidden, changed or frozen? Would ANY other writers at D.U. like to participate in an open discussion of problems, host, electronic engineers and writers have with cyber-attacks at our website?

But they might shed light on hacking crimes we will be able to observe and report on our own computers. I do not write here to become famous. I had a FAR larger audience, when I wrote media, professionally. Now, I am retired, without a 401 K and - like me - many writers gain more fame than money, during media careers.
