Do campaign television ads work?

Watching The Last Word. The last segment was about how Hillary is spending way more on ads than Trump, but the race is still close. Seems to me that the money could be utilized on other things like a ground game instead of tv ads.

I can't think of them off the top of my head but I am aware there are a few out there.

In a primary a few months ago...incumbant named Huelskamp was blindsided with a barrage of ads...and lost badly.

Just a recent example.

The new Kander ad in Missouri is extremely effective, IMO, and will change some minds.

The Herman Cain ad from 2012 featuring his campaign manager Mark Block smoking a cig fell a bit short of the mark:

Nobody should be using a 2012 and before game plan. If they do, it will not work. Think innovation and not status quo.

And yes, ads do work. Kasich did very well using ads--he went from nothing to competitive in NH for a bit...then he ran out of cash.

Ads work well, repetition works well, and can drive home facts not previously known.

Of course, and so does inciteful hate speech, apparently.

We can simply hope that the mouth breathing morons supporting Trump forgot to register to vote....
