2. I'm going into the path of totality in Nebraska.

I've seen 3 partials, 1979, 2012 and 2014. Also viewed the 2012 Venus Transit and 2016 Mercury transit.

This time I get to see a total eclipse.

As a side note, the last time there was a total solar eclipse in the lower 48 was February, 1979.

If you miss this totality of next year's eclipse, the next chance is April 2024.

Next Mercury transit is November 2019.

3. I live 80 miles from the point where it will be at its most perfect near Ft.Campbell army base.

I think I'll have a pretty good seat at home. Hotels have already sold out in that area.
